Loch Lomond is a woollen spun yarn, which means that the yarn isn’t smoothed or combed when spun as per worsted yarns, but stretched out instead, trapping lots of air in the process. This creates a very bouncy and elastic yarn with a nice volume that produces lovely and warm, yet lightweight garments.
BC Garn suggests this yarn for DK knitting patterns, but we think you could try it as a substitute yarn for aran knits or worsted weight projects too. Just the ticket for those between season periods when you need a beautiful knit that’s not too warm, but just warm enough.
Caring for our planet and creating sustainable habits around our craft is important to us which is why natural fibres are prominent in our yarn selection at Baa. However, caring goes deeper than fibre type which is why, like all our BC Garn yarns, Loch Lomond Lace is GOTS certified. This means that from sheep to dye stuff, from production to stock keeping and packing, each step is inspected carefully and in line with very strict organic and social standards.
