The Shetland Wool Week 2023 knitting pattern, ‘Buggieflooer Beanie’, was designed by Shetland nurse and 2023 Shetland Wool Week patron Alison Rendall.
Buggiflooer is the Shetland word for Sea Campion, a wild flower which grows in abundance close to Alison’s home by the sea. The design is knitted ‘in the round’ using circular and/or double-pointed needles. The Baa Collection of Knit Kits contains three six-colour options, each inspired by an image from Scottish photographer Jenny Anderson @jenrosephotos. The yarn used throughout is Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift.
