Made from sturdy resin, this 2 in 1 swatch/needle gauge by ChiaoGoo helps you to determine the gauge of your swatch on one hand, and measures your knitting needle and crochet hook sizes on the other.
Printed on one side of the square is a knitting needle conversion chart including metric, US and UK sizes, a breakdown of the different yarn weights with their recommended knitting gauge and needle size plus holes to help you figure out the size of any stray needles. It also has a printed ruler in inches (up to 5.5 inches).
Printed on the other side is a crochet hook conversion chart along with a breakdown of the different yarn weights and their corresponding recommended crochet gauge and hook size. It also has a printed ruler, this time in cm (up to 14cm)
To use it as a swatch gauge, simply place the square on your swatch and use the l-shaped cut out to count how many stitches and rows you have per 10cm square – your stitch count is measured along the bottom and your row gauge up the side.
To use it as a needle sizer to determined the size of needles whose markings have worn off, simply slot the needle into the holes – it should stop just past it’s taper.
