Inspired by the vibrant Chris Morphet ‘Allover’ exhibition which took place at the Shetland Museum and Archives, the Aal Ower Toorie celebrates the timeless beauty of Fair Isle knitting. Designed by Rachel Hunter for the Shetland Guild of Spinners, Knitters, Weavers, and Dyers, this hat features a continuous allover pattern based on a 1930s diamond grid design from A Shetlander’s Fair Isle Graph Book.
The pattern offers three colourway options: one carefully attempts to recreate the vintage shades found in the Guild’s archive. Named “Aal Ower Toorie” both for the allover design and as a tribute to Guild members from “aal ower” Shetland. This toorie is a joyful project for knitters everywhere.
For UK delivery, we use Royal Mail’s Tracked 24 and Tracked 48 services. Provided goods are in stock, every effort will be made to dispatch your order the next day during shop opening hours, 1-3 days when the shop is closed.
