The Knitpro Basix are a solid needle choice, indeed. These simple, straightforward knitting needles are made using natural birch wood to create a pair of needle tips that are strong, sturdy and effortlessly comfortable to knit with. Since wood is warm to the touch, the Basix needles are a fantastic needle choice for those who suffer from arthritis or troublesome hands. They’re also grippier than their metal counterparts, such as ChiaoGoo, which helps keep your stitches from siding off the needle – great for those slippier fibres such as silk in your summer knitting projects.
The Basix interchangeable tips are available in two lengths: Special and Normal.
Special (shorter) tips measure 8.9cm (3.5in) and make 40cm circular needles, perfect for smaller projects.
Normal (standard length) tips measure 11.4cm (4.5in) and are perfect for those larger knits and longer cable lengths.
Simply choose the needle size that’s right for you and your knitting pattern, screw onto the cable and use the key that comes with your cable to tighten up and away you go.
Please note: the cables must be bought separately. You can find the corresponding Knitpro cables here.
