Situated in the Northeast of Scotland, Carmont Valley is a family-run farm close to Stonehaven and Baa! The Robertson family focus on breeding Pedigree Lleyn and Texel sheep. They began their journey in 2010 with 3 Lleyn lamb ewes and now have over 100!
The wool used in Carmont Valley Aran and Double Knitting yarns is obtained from the Robertson’s Lleyn flock. Naturally finer at the first shearing, Carmont Valley yarn is produced from their yearling ewes or gimmers/shearling ewes. Classified as a medium wool, Lleyn is soft and crisp, ideal for woven clothing and hand knitting. It has great stitch definition in both textural and cable stitches.
