The West Highland Way by Kate Davies and Tom Barr was brought to life when Kate began to create a collection of twelve hand-knit designs, each inspired by their everyday life and with a distinctive story to tell.
With an equal mix of garment and accessory patterns, there are plenty of designs to satisfy your knitting desires. Whether you’d like a tweedy cardigan which echoes the mossy palette of Conic Hill, a delicate jumper recalling a favourite plant found on Rannoch Moor, or a shawl sparked by the energy of the Highlands’ first “electric village”, the design you choose also comes with an exploratory essay where Kate gives context to her incredible designs and the inspiration behind them.
Rounding off the book is Tom’s stunning photography. He beautifully depicts the West Highland Way across each season of the year to accompany Kate’s words and beautiful knitted designs.
